On February 28, 2016, Lucy Mackenzie made her dramatic entrance into the world at just 29 weeks, weighing 2lbs 7oz. After being in the NICU for over 50 days, we now consider the staff family. We were always greeted with a smile and a hug when we entered the unit, and left knowing she was in the best hands possible. Our story would be completely different without them. The staff in the GBMC NICU go above and beyond every day to provide the best care possible for every baby, and with their help, Lucy has been able to thrive!
On April 23, 2016, after 56 days, Lucy was finally able to come home with us. She continues to get bigger and stronger, and we are forever grateful for the care she received to allow us to be together as a family.
