THE STORY:

** WE ARE NOW ONLY $2,800 SHORT OF OUR GOAL**

I am endebted to the loving, kind individuals and businesses who have so graciously donated to this effort. We are $2,800 short of making this possible!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A good family friend of mine is a Priest and a brilliant educator.  His name is Fr. Emmanuel, and he lives a few hours outside of Accra, Ghana.

As we all know, last year the Ebola crisis spread rampantly across West Africa and thousands of people lost their lives. According to World Health Organization, the most effective way to prevent the spread of Ebola is through washing one’s hands with clean water; unfortunately two of the schools where Emmanuel is a teacher, do not have access to clean water.

Besides dampening the spread of Ebola and other illnesses and diseases, clean water is a necessary resource for life. Each individual needs at least 2-3 liters of clean drinking water each day in addition to water for cooking, bathing, etc. Polluted water isn’t only dangerous -- it’s also deadly. The United Nations “considers universal access to clean water a basic human right, and an essential step towards improving living standards worldwide.”

I agree with them.

On Emmanuel’s second day visiting with us, over an In-N-Out burger, I told him I wanted to create access to clean drinking water for the schools.  This process requires rebuilding and restoring two existing dirty wells, into two new functioning water wells.  Since that day, I've worked with him and multiple Ghanaian contractors and this is what we need to make it happen:

  • Drilling + construction - $7,000
  • Mechanization pump - $2,000
  • HDPE pipe - $600
  • HDPE fittings - $400
  • Transportation of Materials - $1000
  • Labor - $1,000
  • Taxes, permits – miscellaneous expenditures TBD

Total for two water wells = $12, 000* before taxes, permits, etc.

My hope is to raise enough money to build two new water wells for both high schools in Ghana that will provide clean water for roughly 3,000 people within both communities.

ANY help you can provide is so appreciated -- even if it's just spreading my campaign by word of mouth to others who may be interested in helping.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!
