This is HIS place.
That is what I think of when I think of Deerfoot Lodge. To me it is the most beautiful and perfect place I have ever been. It is a place that changes boys into Men of God. Deerfoot helped to shape me into the person that I am today.
Deerfoot Lodge is a Christian wilderness camp for boys on Whitaker Lake in the Adirondack Mountains of New York. The wildness setting allows the boys to experience the beauty of God’s creation, learn about camping, enjoy fun and games, and learn about God without the distractions of day to day life. I was fortunate to “work” there for three summers and it is amazing the impact it has had on my life. Deerfoot has had the same impact on thousands of other campers and staff since the camp started in 1930. I do not even know how to begin to describe how special Deerfoot is.
Lately though, more and more young men who would like to experience Deerfoot have not had the chance. Each year, the waitlist grows longer and longer. For the last 10 years Deerfoot has been full to capacity, and each year about a hundred boys have missed out on the opportunity to be shaped for the better. As that keeps happening, the world misses out on the development of more Godly men who value community and are wise leaders at a time when they are needed more than ever. So, taking a leap of faith, Deerfoot has purchased a property in western North Carolina to start a second camp. It is a beautiful property that will make a great setting for another camp that can deliver a similar experience and outcome to the original Deerfoot.
Before the second camp (which has been named Deerfoot Blue Ridge, after the local mountains) can be opened and start building Godly men, there is work to be done. The parcel of land that has already been purchased (debt free!) needs to be developed. Trying to do our part, a few hundred current and former Deerfooters have decided to do a fundraiser based on one of traditional challenges set out each session at camp - to do 3,000 pushups and memorize 12 verses. I have decided to do this challenge too, so would you consider sponsoring me to help kickstart Deerfoot Blue Ridge and provide a place for more boys to become Men of God.

The 3000-12 BLUE Challenge is a fundraiser to support the building of Deerfoot’s new camp in the Blue Ridge mountains of North Carolina. Participants ask friends and family to sponsor them as they do 3000 pushups and memorize 12 Bible verses. We raise money, get ripped, and learn the words of Jesus. All at once. We call that BOSS!
