Mark Huseland

THE STORY:

Hey! I'm Mark Huseland. I was a camper at Deerfoot Lodge for nine years, a Guide of 2012, and was a staff member for 3 summers. Currently I'm working at Northern Frontier, another boys camp which centers on the same mission as Deerfoot, discipling Godly men, both young and old. I'm also studying youth ministry at Cairn University hoping one day to disciple youth for a living. Deerfoot is one of the biggest reasons I've developed this passion for leading young people closer to  Jesus Christ. From the age of eight years old I watched college aged and older men who absolutely loved Christ and I wanted what they had. One of the coolest experiences I had was watching all four of my  older brothers grow in leadership, maturity, and most importantly love for Christ as they worked on staff. Then I had the opportunity to be on staff, and develop great relationships with guys that consistently build me up and others up spiritually. I believe in the mission of Deerfoot because I think there is a void in the body of Christ of men of God and I believe that Deerfoot Lodge is one ministry which fills that void. Deerfoot has a special place in a lot of other boys and mens hearts too but for several years now we have not been able to let every camper who wants to be at Deerfoot come because we are at max capacity. The Deerfoot Blue challenge is to raise money for opening up a second Deerfoot Lodge in the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina. This will give opporunity for thousands of other young men and boys to have the same great experiences I have had as a young boy and young man. If you believe in this same mission of building Godly men I'd ask that you support me and this ministry in prayer and consider supporting me in this fundraiser financially.

"Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it. "- Proverbs 22:6

The 3000-12 BLUE Challenge is a fundraiser to support the building of Deerfoot’s new camp in the Blue Ridge mountains of North Carolina. Participants ask friends and family to sponsor them as they do 3000 pushups and memorize 12 Bible verses. We raise money, get ripped, and learn the words of Jesus. All at once. We call that BOSS!
