BENEFITING: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
EVENT DATE: Sep 24, 2016
Danny Thomas, founder of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, once said: "All of us are born for a reason, but all of us don't discover why. Success in life has nothing to do with what you gain in life or accomplish for yourself. It's what you do for others."
When I turned 30 last year, my best friend surprised me with a celebration of random acts of kindness from family and friends all across the country. I still am giddy thinking of how special that day was - I felt like EVERYONE was celebrating with me even though they were not actually by my side; instead, everyone was celebrating by paying it forward. By far the coolest birthday...ever.
This year, for 31, I'm encouraging my family and friends to donate $31 to St. Jude Children's Hospital for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month (which is this month, September). St. Jude Children's Hospital is INCREDIBLE, affording children the chance for kicking cancer's butt and their families to be with them throughout the process at absolutely zero cost. Survival rates have gone UP because of this institution, and after running the marathon through the campus last December with the patients outside, cheering ME on, I knew that I could never do enough for these kids.
But we can together.
Consider donating $31 on September 24th (or before...or after!) for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital to help end childhood cancer. Help children celebrate more birthdays.
