My dearest family and friends,
For those of you who don't know, I am an advocate for Women and Children through teaching Women's Self Defense and Child Safety. It is an unexceptable number that 1 in 4 women will experience domestic violence during their lifetime and 1 in 3 will be a victim of homicide. Equally upsetting is the 3 million children who witness this violence in their home every year and 60% who will become victims of abused along with their parent. I am partnering with Molon Labe Crossfit in an open public event this Saturday, September 12, 2015, in hopes of bringing awareness to a topic so few talk about. Your donation will help make it possible for women and children to live in a safer and healthier enviroment. Your donation matters. Please read below, why I have joined Mark Nolan in his mission to helping Battered Women's Shelter.
From the heart, Melissa
My name is Mark Nolan. I am the affiliate owner of Molon Labe CrossFit. Molon Labe CrossFit is a fitness facility dedicated to making a difference in our community. We invite you to support our charity campaign to assist the Battered Women’s Shelter of Summit County. Why am I doing this? Frankly, to save lives. I lost my beautiful sister over a decade ago. Her name was Jennifer. She was a victim of domestic violence. I can still see her beautiful face and hear the lilt of her voice and the sound of her laugh. She left behind three very young children. Her children, her parents and her siblings (including myself), all miss her very much. Sadly, I could not save her. However, my wife and I want to use our business as a platform to help others who may be in a life-threatening situation. Hopefully, by saving other lives, her death will not have been completely in vain. Please consider helping us save lives. Sincerely, Mark D. Nolan
