335 Miles for Veterans presented by UPMC
EVENT DATE: Jun 30, 2016
DEADLINE TO GIVE: Jun 30, 2016
On June 30th, 20 veterans & supporters bicycled 335 miles from Pittsburgh to Washington, D.C. to honor and support local veterans on 4th of July weekend. 335 Miles for Veterans is a fundraiser started by Veterans Leadership Program of Western Pennsylvania’s case manager, Jack Kudrav, U.S. Army Veteran and avid cyclist. This year, Jack was accompanied by 21 riders who heard Jack’s story and were inspired help him in his fundraising efforts. VLP’s cycle team left from VLP’s offices on June 30th and arrived in our nation’s capital on July 4th.
Each rider participated in 335 Miles for Veterans to raise money for the men and women who come to Veterans Leadership Program of Western Pennsylvania during their critical time of need. Each year, VLP serves more than 2,500 local veterans who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, unemployed or underemployed, or facing an emergency. By connecting them to housing, jobs and essential services, VLP is helping veterans find a better life for themselves and their families. The team raised more than $26,000!
