38 children per day are confirmed as victims of abuse in Oklahoma.
Help us stop the abuse!
Join our team and take the 38 for 38 Challenge.
It's simple -- donate $38.00 yourself and then ask 38 of your friends to do the same.
Your support will help us break the cycle of child abuse in Oklahoma.
An adult client Family Builders recently told us, “When I was a kid, my home life was a horror story. . . and school? I loved and hated it. I loved it because it got me out of my house, where drugs and yelling and all kinds of awful things happened. I hated it because I’d walk the hallways and wonder how nobody could see on my face what was going on in my life. But I just couldn’t tell, and I couldn’t get out.”
A song from the rock group The Eagles, illustrates what this young woman was feeling: “So often times it happens that we live our lives in chains …”
Too many of Oklahoma’s children and teens are living their lives in the chains of abuse and violence.
The rest of that song states, “and we never even know we have the key.”
We want to provide that key for these most vulnerable young people. The key is having knowledge and empowerment to act as well as having adults in their lives—parents, teachers, youth workers, coaches, pastors, bus drivers, neighbors—who are ready, willing and able to help them unlock those chains and move towards help and healing and break the cycle of abuse forever.
