“When you die, it does not mean that you lose to cancer. You beat cancer by how you live, why you live, and in the manner in which you live.” – Stuart Scott
I am honored to be part of the Project Purple Team for the second year as part of their marathon team. This race became a special race form me when Project Purple was selected as the race charity.
Project Purple is a non-profit organization, created with the goal of raising awareness and funding to help defeat pancreatic cancer. Its primary objective is to support patients and families who have been directly affected by this disease.
This year I am running for Team Leahy. Team Leahy was created in honor of my uncle, Ken Leahy and my cousin’s wife, Kristi Leahy. Five years ago, my uncle Ken lost his battle with pancreatic cancer. Later in the year, Kristi also lost her battle with cancer. Both Ken and Kristi lived in a manner to which all are inspired and are remembered by. Both gave countess time and energy to their families, friends, and communities.
I hope that you will join me by contributing what you can to this worthy cause. My minimum goal is $500 by April, however, my main goal is to raise $2,620. Please join me and Team Leahy to work together to help assist those impacted directly as well as find a cure.
