EVENT DATE: Sep 28, 2016
In celebration of our 40th year we are asking you to make a gift of $40 and then send to your friends and help us spread the word!
Casa Teresa is a program-based shelter helping pregnant women who are homeless or in difficult situations. During their stay their stay they gain tools to redirect their lives and get back on a clear path as they prepare for their babies.
Current resident upon coming to Casa Teresa, "The moment I was greeted at the doors for my interview I knew I was in a safe place. However, I was terrified. I wanted to get into this home so badly…The next day I received a call…I had been accepted. Grateful and humbled, I moved my things into my new room. I remember how bright and cheerful the room felt…"
We start by loving them as they are and helping them heal. Our program provides structure beginning with classes including nutrition, parenting, healthy relationships and more. They gain life skills and work on enhancing their education through partnerships we have within the community (completing their high school education or taking college courses). Our goal is to equip them to become self-sufficient.
“It took time, but…I learned to trust those around me. They loved me for no reason and there was nothing in it for them to see me fail. I surrendered and embraced the program wholeheartedly.”
2016 marks 40 years of service and there has been lots of growth in that time. Join us in supporting these women who have committed to making a change for themselves and their babies.
"Casa Teresa changed my life. I never have to live the way I was living ever again. Casa Teresa is my home."
