BENEFITING: National Fragile X Foundation
My Dearest Family & Friends - it is happening, yes it is - I am turning 40 !!
I've been asked - it's such a big celebration, what do you want to do to celebrate? I thought long and hard about it - and what I really want is a Cure for Fragile X !!
I know i'm not smart enough to figure out how to do that - but I do know two great organizations working towards that - The National Fragile X Foundation and the Fragile X Alliance of Texas.
You all know why Fragile X is so close to me - and it's because of my best buddy, my hero, my champion - my Hayden. I look at that little boy everyday and I am so proud of him. I can't even begin to understand all he has to endure each and every day - but he does it. He smiles, he laughs, he loves unconditionally, and everyday I get to be his Dad. I can't even put into words how much I love that little boy. Ah, little boy - he's 10 years old - he's my little man now.
Our Fragile X journey started on October 22nd, 2007 - when Hayden was diagnosed with Fragile X Syndrome. At that time - we had no idea what it was. We had no idea what the future would hold. But it was through the National Fragile X Foundation that we found hope. That we found a community. That we found a new family.
From those dark early days of learning what Fragile X was, to the days getting involved with local support groups and going to Advocacy Day in Washington DC, to forming our own group in San Antonio, and to becoming a member of the Board of Directors - the National Fragile X Foundation has always been that beacon of hope. And the Fragile X Alliance of Texas, and all the local groups around the country do that for so many families.
I can find no better way to celebrate my 40th Birthday than to support such amazing organizations. But I can't do it alone. Please consider supporting my 40 For Fragile X Fundraiser. I only need 1,000 of my closest friends to donate $40 each and we can raise $40,000 that will support both the National Fragile X Foundation in their continuing mission and the Fragile X Alliance of Texas as they embark on hosting the 15th Annual International Fragile X Conference in 2016. And please - don't think only $40 will do - anything you can give will go such a long way in supporting such a great organization.
I would be so honored and humbled by your support.
Thank you and God Bless you.
