Gift of Life Family House offers hope and healing to transplant patients and their families. It serves as a “home away from home” by providing cozy rooms, home-cooked meals, transportation, emotional care, and other supportive services to families who travel to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for transplant-related care.
40 Hours for the Family House is an online FUNdraising challenge that starts at 8 a.m. on #GivingTuesday, 11.28.2017 — and only lasts 40 hours! Every dollar raised helps provide care to more families. ANYONE can sign up!

This 2017 #GivingTuesday, give your donation and transplantation story when you sign up for the 40 Hours for the Family House challenge — an online funraiser to support transplant patients and their families at Gift of Life Family House.

STEP 1: SIGN UP
Simply click the big green SIGN UP button above to create your very own personal fundraising page. If you are joining an existing team, click JOIN A TEAM. If you would like to sign up as an individual or if you are setting up a new team, click SET UP A TEAM.
STEP 2: SPREAD THE WORD
You can’t start collecting donations on your personal page until the start of the challenge on November 28, but definitely let everyone know beforehand that you’re participating by emailing them a link to your personal fundraising page. (According to CrowdRise, email is still the best method for securing donations for your page.) You can also post about your fundraiser on your social media pages, such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter! It’s important to give your contacts a heads up at least one week in advance so that they know when they can begin making donations to your page and help you win the challenge!
STEP 3: START THE CHALLENGE
At 8:00 a.m. on November 28, the challenge officially kicks off. A donate button will appear on your page, and your supporters can begin making donations! Send out a lot of reminders, and be sure to thank every contributor as quickly as possible.
Last year, volunteers collectively raised more than $54,628 in just 40 hours to support the Adopt-a-Family Program — a program at the Family House that helps families who cannot afford the $40 nightly fee. That’s equivalent to more than 1,365 nights of lodging!
Can the Family House, and hundreds of transplant families, count on you to make this year an even bigger success?
Each $40 donation this holiday season helps cover a one-night stay at the Family House for a family in need, but every gift, of any size, provides hope and healing.
