Be a badass unicorn for my 40th birthday and give to charity in lieu of gifts! I'll donate all the funds I raise here to SERT and Kitten Rescue. These two organizations are so special to me that I have personally logged countless volunteer hours for them in the past.
Use your dollars to vote! Let me know here or in person where you want your money to go. You can also send me a check or give me your donation in person, if you don't like doing that kind of thing online. I'll post updates here regularly so you can see which charity is "winning," but really, everybody wins for my birthday!
Special Equestrian Riding Therapy (SERT) is a non-profit charitable organization that offers therapeutic horseback riding lessons for children and adults with physical, mental, and emotional challenges. Everyone who works there is a volunteer (no SERT "employees" get a paycheck), and tuition alone is often not enough to cover the cost of running such a complex and truly beneficial program, so donations are always needed. http://sert.org/
About Kitten Rescue:
Kitten Rescue is dedicated to rescuing homeless animals (not just kittens) from shelters and euthanasia. They are also a non-profit organization that relies on the kindness of volunteers and the generosity of donors. http://www.kittenrescue.org/
