BENEFITING: UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
A 40th Birthday is a milestone. I am so thankful to have a very happy life, a loving family and the things I need to live. So, for my 40th birthday, I want to celebrate by GIVING to others in need else instead of getting gifts.
Did you know that every 60 seconds someone in Africa dies of a disease that is 100% preventable? It's malaria....a disease that we eradicated here in America. Nearly 90% of malaria’s victims are children under the age of 5 and pregnant women. But there is something easy we can all do to help prevent these deaths. $10 can buy a mosquito net that can literally save a life or 2 rounds of malaria medication. Malaria is carried by mosquitoes that only feed at night. So, a bed net for a child or even a whole family can help save a life as they sleep!
For my 40th birthday, I would like to help save 40 lives in Africa. The "Imagine No Malaria" program from The United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Committee on Relief is a wonderful organization, which ensures that 100% of all monies donated go directly to the cause! Imagine No Malaria is supposted by the BIll and Melinda Gates Foundation and the United Nations Foundation.
If you would like to celebrate the wonderful things you have, please consider donating $10 to save one life! If 40 of us donate $10 or 20 of us donate $20.....think how quickly we can make a difference in the lives of 40 people! Now THAT is a great birthday present!
