Pancreatic Cancer is the fourth largest killer of all cancer killers and the least funded of the top ten cancers. It is also the only cancer in the top ten killer with a single digit survival rate after five years. Less than 6% of all people diagnosed will live 5 years. There is no early detection method and NO CURE.
Project Purple is working hard to change these statistics by funding research. In May 2014, Project Purple pledged a $150,000 grant to the University of Nebraska Medical Center's pancreatic cancer research team. Project Purple also has a Patient Financial Aid Program that helps families pay the daily bills like mortgage, rent, and utilities due to a financial hardship caused by pancreatic cancer.
Lastly they offer a Scholarship Program providing grants to children and grandchildren who have lost a loved one to pancreatic cancer to continue their education. They are committed to keeping the money raised locally in the state of Nebraska.
Will you please consider a tax-deductible donation to help me reach my goal but more importantly help pancreatic cancer patients, their families, and researchers trying to find a cure.
