I am welcoming 42 laps around the sun with open arms and would love for you to join me in celebrating my 42nd birthday. I did 40 flights when I turned 40 and excited to do it again. This year, I am doing this challenge to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy Research. http://mda.org/research2
My very dear Friend, Mika, has a son who was recently diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy as a teenager. Mika went to CAL with Conchita and I. She and her husband David are lovely human beings with awesome kids.
I am dedicating this event for her son, Jachai, who was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy. When I was 5 years old I remember learning about Muscular Dystrophy and meeting a kid my age with Muscular Dystrophy when my dad took both Conchita and I to an MDA fundraising event in Puerto RIco. It was the first time I remember learning about the disease that affected people's ability to move.
Join me in supporting this great cause by participating in the event and if you can't be there, I hope you will help me raise money by donating.
Here are some ideas as to how you can help in addition to joining me that day to do the stairs and get a great workout:
Level 1) Donate 1$ per flight ($42)
Level 2) Donate 2$ per flight ($84)
Level 3) Donate 5$ per flight ($210)
Level 4) Become a part of the team and help raise money on your own. Just let me know and I will be glad to add you on here as a Fundraising member!!!!
For those of you doing it, start training. You'll see Iris and I out there in the morning from time to time.
Come join us for 42 or 20 or 10 or just 2. We'll be taking our time trying to get through 42 sets of stairs on Saturday. We'll go from 8:30am to 12:00pm most likely unless I pass out.
Note: we'll be mostly at the wooden ones (wider and lower impact)
