Eventbrite User wrote -Please help make a difference in our community by contributing to the 47th Annual Kwanzaa Children’s Party. This superb cultural event will host over 200 children from the DC metropolitan area and will be held at St. Martin’s Church, 1908 North Capitol Street NW, Washington, DC, on December 30, 2016. Our goal is to raise $3000. Your financial donation, advertisement, or in-kind gift will make a vital difference. The first children’s party was held 47 years ago and is a staple in the community. Every year, families look forward to celebrating the principles of Kwanzaa and renewing their commitment to community building. This FREE event will feature a host of entertaining and engaging educational activities for the children including cultural arts & crafts, African dance and drumming classes, storytelling, face painting, healthy kids cooking class, Karamu feast, candle lighting ceremony, and performances featuring Ayanna Gregory, Farafina Kan Youth Ensemble, Ka’ba SoulSinger, and Iya and the Kuumba Kids. Every child in attendance will receive a Kwanzaa gift bag full of goodies and a t-shirt. There are several levels to this giving opportunity. Your donation will help us to provide the children with educational and cultural gifts, cultural arts activities and performances, an organic meal, and commemorative program and activity booklet. If you have questions or would like to make arrangements for your ad or donation, please contact me at 240-417-5959. We thank you in advance for your generosity.
