Help 4-H Liberia Hold the First-ever National 4-H Teen Conference in December!!
Did you ever attend a 4-H teen conference? If so, you know how exciting, educational, and motivational it was for you to meet and interact with fellow 4-H members. We’re proud to share that 4-H Liberia will be hosting its first ever agricultural fair and youth leadership camp from December 27-30, 2016. 72 teen-age students from 6 Liberian counties will be attending.
To make this event possible, we still need a little help. The funds raised through this will go directly to student meal costs for the event as well as materials for activities over the 4 day camp. This will be an incredible opportunity for high-school age students from schools across Liberia to meet and share ideas, develop their leadership and communication skills, as well as showcase their talents.
A one day agricultural fair will kick off the event. Students will bring produce from their 4-H and school gardens to demonstrate their hard work at the event, just like you do/did at the state fair! The next 3 days will be full of learning, leadership and fun! Some of the workshops at the camp include: communication, record keeping, leadership, entrepreneurship, public speaking, sustainable agriculture, and parliamentary procedure. In addition to this, there will be football and volleyball tournaments as well as a talent show and visits from important agriculturalists, business people, and government officials from all around Liberia.
This is an incredible opportunity for 4-H Liberia to gain recognition and grow on a national level, but we can’t do it without you. Your support will help a deserving group of 4-H youth and students have an incredible experience as well as contribute to food security and education in Liberia. Be part of something global!
