4th Annual Reagan & Zoe's Walk for Breast Cancer Awareness
Organized by: Nicky Zabetian
A life-threatening illness became the catalyst for a very special Mother's Day event -- a two-mile fundraising walk for breast cancer. Reagan Tierney and Zoe Zabetian organized their first event three years ago, as seventh graders, when Tierney's mom was recovering from breast cancer surgery and radiation treatments. They wanted to do something that would be fun, but would also actually help people. Each year, their Mother's day walk raises close to $4000 for the Carol Ann Read Health Center in Oakland, named after an Orinda resident who lost her battle with the disease. This year, as sophomores at Miramonte high school, Reagan and Zoe continue to raise money for this same worthy organization, as they raise awareness for this deadly disease. The two mile walk begins at the St. Stephen's Trail head, near the old train depot on Davis Street in Orinda at 9am on Mother's Day, 5/8/16. Join us for bagels, coffee and a whole lot of fun! We will collect donations at the walk, or you may donate using this website. We thank you in advance for your contribution! Let's work together to give women a fighting chance against this devastating disease which affects too many of our loved ones.
