The Story

EVENT DATE: Jun 28, 2014

*Presented by Penobscot Investment Management Company, Inc. *

Every day 22 acres of land disappear in Massachusetts. That’s roughly 17 football fields of land being developed or cleared for retail space, or wildlife habitats divided up for roads. Many of these lands are essential to sustain native and migratory wildlife, safeguard our drinking water supplies, and provide recreational opportunities for people to enjoy the outdoors.

Wildlands Trust has been actively protecting open spaces in southeastern Massachusetts since 1973. To date, we have protected over 6,700 acres of land in 34 towns. The Run for Conservation is an opportunity for you to support our mission of land conservation and connecting people to the land. Last year, over 100 runners came together to support land conservation. Please join them this year by registering to run here!
