Please join me in my run of "50 miles in 50 days for $50 for Areivim" challenge.
Kids sometimes fall through the cracks.
I know. Mine did.
I can't tell you how many schools proved to be a poor fit for my child. There's a special place called Areivim. It provides warmth, shelter, education and, most of all acceptance for teens in the Monsey area and dozens of other communities who previously had no place to go. They are best known for their quick and effective response during crisis including but not limited to: drug overdoses, arrests, teen suicides and more. Intervention requires experienced counselors, around the clock dedication and the ability to network in multiple communities and services. Arevim constantly rises to the challenge.
And just for us, they opened up a high school called Ohr Gavriel.
I'm committed to helping them raise $5,000 to provide much needed scholarship help. I'm willing to run 50 miles (with my new hip) if it will help the school. My challenge: I run the 50 miles in the next 50 days and you partner by donating $50 .
I know you are numb to monetary appeals, but this is such a special place, their needs are so modest and all the money will go directly for scholarships.
Thier passion to help , as well as their skills seem unlimited. Sadly, their finances are not. Because I feel so strongly that all of our teenagers deserve opprtuniites to succeed, I am appealing to you. There's no "organization." I'm just a mom with a bad hip.
Of course you can donate more (or less) if need be.
To be clear: Areivim is the umbrella organziation which encompasses the high school as one of their many projects.
9/17/2014 "Running" tab: 36.9 down, 13.10 miles to go. Whoops! I had better slow down.
