BENEFITING: March of Dimes Foundation
EVENT DATE: Jan 16, 2016
In January, I will participate in the San Diego 50 Mile trail run (more like a shuffle after 50M) to raise money in support of March of Dimes research programs aimed at increasing quality of life for infants born prematurely. Each year, more than 450,000 babies are born prematurely in the United States and 120,000 are born with birth defects; the leading cause of infant death. Over the course of my career, I have watched families grieve over the loss of their children and this is my way of giving back to those families and helping future generations have a greater chance at life. March of Dimes mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects and infant mortality. Their research has created the Neonatal Intensive care unit guidelines, therapy for respiratory distress, ongoing premature infant research, and Folic Acid Campaign which reduced incidences of brain and spine birth defects. Your support can make a difference for each prematurely born infant, please help me reach my goal for this great organization!
