Marathon #52
December 22, 2017
THE STORY:
Follow my journey HERE or on Facebook, Twitter & Instagram
Ten years ago, Jan 1st 2007 I gave up cigarettes after 20 years of smoking a pack-a-day. I'm also a lifelong asthmatic. I started to walk and then run to get in shape. After a while I was taking part in marathons and even qualified for Boston in 2008.
I'm now on the board of Breathe California, a charity that fights lung disease and protects lung health. To raise money and awareness for this great group, I will run a full 26.2 mile marathon every week in 2017. This is not cumulative mileage. It'll be one continues marathon every week.
If you believe in clean air and a tobacco free California, please support me in this effort. Give what you can; a dollar a month, a dollar a marathon or whatever you can afford. BTW if you're curious & super generous & want to give a dollar a mile, the total for the year will be 1,362.4! Your donation will mean the world to this wonderful charity and I'll be eternally grateful.
Oh, here's a little video of what I've done so far
Sincerely,
"Irish" Greg McQuaid
