SF Ultramarathon complete!
July 25, 2017
BENEFITING: National Multiple Sclerosis Society
Hello everyone! I'll be running the 2017 San Francisco Ultramarathon on July 23. This consists of running the San Francisco Marathon course TWICE in one morning. Compared to 27000 runners in the Marathon and Half Marathon events, only 100 spots are available every year for the Ultramarathon.
Part of the entry process for the Ultramarathon is fundraising for charity. This year, I'll be doing it as a fundraiser for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Since 2013, my father has participated in the 100+ mile Bike MS City to Shore ride. He raises money and rides each year in memory of our family members who have lost their lives to MS, as well as all those currently living with this terrible disease. This year, I want to join him in raising awareness about MS and help make progress towards a world without it.
When you make a donation, you are changing the world for people affected by MS. Symptoms of MS range from numbness and tingling to blindness and paralysis, and generally worsens over time. We cannot yet predict the progress, severity and specific symptoms of MS in any one person, but advances in research and treatment are leading to better understanding and moving us closer to a world free of MS.
I have completed several 50+ mile events but this will be perhaps my most important run to date. Every dollar raised matters to those affected by MS. Thank you for your support.
