Each year, animal shelters take in 6-8 million displaced, lost or unwanted companion animals. Sadly, sixty percent of these animals will not make it out alive. Six out of every ten dogs admitted to U.S. shelters are euthanized due to space limitations, lack of funding, or simply because there is no one to adopt them.
Thankfully, there are good people (like Friends of the Shelter volunteers) working hard to put a dent in the statistics. Your pledge -- and my walk -- will help provide a little extra TLC for sick and injured shelter dogs in the Columbus area. Together, we can help these sweet, fuzzy faces get back on their feet in order to find their forever families. Let's get some tails waggin', shall we?

What is Friends of the Shelter? Friends of the Shelter is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization that was founded in 2003 to help fund the medical care for the sick and injured dogs at the Franklin County Dog Shelter. Each year, our organization helps save the lives of over 350 deserving dogs!
Why sponsor a participant of the 5K for K9s? Because you will be helping save the lives of deserving dogs who otherwise would not receive a second chance at life. Friends of the Shelter relies on donations from the public to save the animals and pay for their veterinary care. The more money we raise, the more lives we can save! So please sponsor Friends of the Shelter today. Since we are a 501c3, donations made to Franklin County Dog Shelter are tax-deductible.
ON BEHALF OF THE HOMELESS DOGS WHO YOU WILL BE HELPING TO SAVE, WE THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
