Those of you who know me, know I'm not a runner (not athletic at all to be quite honest), but I've decided to run a 5K to raise funds and support the wonderful work EOS is doing in Nicaragua! EOS is a non-profit organization that is doing incredible things to help end poverty in the developing world by providing appropriate technologies.
Many rural Nicaraguans who do not have access to clean water, nor the money or electricity to run a water chlorination plant in their communities. A water chlorinator costs $200 and EOS plans to install 12 in small communities, which will serve 5,000-6,000 people. This means for every $10 donated, two families are supported in staying healthy with something we take for granted - clean water.
All donations are tax deductible. Your donation will help EOS International provide low-cost, sustainable technology to villages in Nicaragua, the second poorest nation in the western hemisphere. These technologies generate income and improve health, while protecting the environment. EOS International strives to use appropriate technology to help families lift themselves out of poverty.
