EVENT DATE: Sep 17, 2011
Over the last four years, the Woodlawn Run for a Cause has had more than 575 people complete the 3.1 mile course. More importantly, a $2,500 donation was made to the Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund in 2007, $2,600 was donated to the Children's Hospital at Montefiore Medical Center in 2008, $3,000 was donated to the Compassionate Care Hospice in 2009 and $4,200 was donated to Part of the Solution (POTS) last year.
The fifth annual race will be held on Saturday, September 17 at 10am. The course will be the same as in the past, beginning at the Woodlawn Bus Stop at the corner of Nursery Road to finish at Indian Field.
This year, all proceeds will go to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). LLS is the world's largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer. LLS funds lifesaving blood cancer research around the world and provides free information and support services.
