Sara Tolliver wrote -Every day, approximately 22 veterans and one active duty soldier take their own lives. That is over 8,000 per year. That is over 130,000 since September 11th. 22in22 began as a way to draw awareness to the issue and to help fund the non-profit, Stop Soldier Suicide, Inc. They provide help to at-risk military and their families. We ask you, as you do your 22in22 to help us raise at least $3000 and to encourage others, by forming teams, to do the same. $300 allows us to support one vet for one year. The idea is for you to walk, run, hop, skip or jump 22 mile in 22 days, in honor of our heroes. Or perhaps you have a hero of your own. I have challenged myself to walking 44 miles in 22 days. As such, I also encourage and challenge my family and friends to join me and do something for 22 days. Meditate, do yoga, cook something you've never made before, make a fashion statement, make this challenge your own. If you can get out and walk or run, do so. If you choose not to participate, donate $2.22 or $22 to this amazing cause. Thank you for your support. Together WE can make a difference.
