This 13 yr old fell on his head causing 2 brain bleeds, a cracked vertebrae in his neck along with other injuries. This resulted in 2-1/2 hrs of brain surgery. The surgery required removal of the skull to accommodate for swelling. Without the care of the doctors and nurses, he would probably not be here today. He was not expected to wake up for at least a week. Within 24 hrs he did. The Doctors were shocked. Said the only answer is, "they had help". Now that the swelling has gone down considerably, he returned for another surgery to replace the cap. As he heals, he has many obstacles to overcome. As the doctor appts are now lining up and testing is underway, the ireality of the damage is overwhelming let alone all of the medical bills to come. Hearing loss has now been determined as well as vertigo, sensitivity to light and sounds me so much more. Prior to the accident, he was a star soccer player with a bright future. As this may be a bump in the road, it's very difficult to get over and the amount of medical attention as well as home schooling needed is insurmountable. The anguish he is experiencing is difficult with so much pain from the injuries and now the replacement of the cap. This submission is an attempt to help a single parent pay the medical bills that are piling up. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
