BENEFITING: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
A leukemia or lymphoma diagnosis occurs in the United States nearly every four seconds. Sixty years ago, these cancers were nearly 100% fatal. But thanks to the efforts of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS), and their commitment to cutting-edge science, an unprecedented rise in survival rates has occurred.
Hazel Levine was recently diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Receiving this news was a surreal and frightening experience for Deborah and me. But the fact that lymphoma has become one of the most treatable forms of cancer gives us great comfort at this trying time. And we wish to show our gratitude to LLS by supporting additional research so that other moms and dads can be encouraged as Deborah and I have been.
In solidarity with Hazel's climb to be cancer-free, and to raise funds to continue the development of more effective cures, Deborah and I have created 4Summits4Days4Haze. In September, I will lead a team that will attempt 4 Colorado summits, including Storm King Peak (pictured here). Deborah and I encourage you to make a donation to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in honor of Hazel.
