BENEFITING: Mountainside Baroque

EVENT DATE: Nov 27, 2017

THE STORY:

Celebrating our seventh year of presenting the finest in early music, Mountainside Baroque wishes to raise $7,000 to help fund an ambitious new project this season: an inaugural 4-day early music festival. Alongside our popular annual concert series and well-regarded period instrument academy for students and young adults, "Music in the Mountains" will showcase world-renowned performers and groups in our historic hometown of Cumberland, located in picturesque Allegany County at the heart of the Appalachian Mountains in western Maryland.  Drawing from the Potomac Highlands of Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia as well as Baltimore, Pittsburgh and other major cities, “Music in the Mountains” is sure to please.

Kicking off on #GivingTuesday and winding up on New Year's Eve, this appeal will support our commitment not just to evocative and dramatic performances of early music, but to this wonderful region of the country we call home. Please consider donating to our cause and sharing this message online with friends and family. Let them know what Mountainside Baroque means to the future of the art, especially in rural communities (like Cumberland) across the country. The wider the reach from personal appeals, the more likely we are to reach our primary goal of $7,000. Remember, all donations are tax-deductible. Thanks in advance for your generosity.
