BENEFITING: INJURED MARINE SEMPER FI FUND
In 2010, a group of Marines and Sailors from 3rd Battalion, 25th Marines got together in an effort to reclaim the Memorial Day weekend and honor their fallen brethren. 48 Marines and Sailors from 3/25 were lost in Iraq in 2005, and it became known as one of the hardest hit battalions since Wold War II. With that in mind, these veterans decided to run, in relay fashion, over 100 miles with the intention of interrupting the holiday weekend to give people pause to remember what Memorial Day was all about. Since it's inception in 2010, the Memorial 100 has travelled through four states and the District of Columbia, and has raised over $100,000 for veteran's charities. Please consider donating this year as we support the Semper Fi Fund, an organization that provides immediate financial assistance and lifetime support to post-9/11 wounded, critically ill and injured (service) members, and their families from the U.S. Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and the reserve components of the U.S. Armed Forces, ensuring that they have the resources they need during their recovery and transition back to their communities.
