Eight years ago Lahser high school student Mary Pilibosian was deciding on community service. Mary and her sisters Susie, Emilie and Maggie knew exactly what they wanted to do. After Maggie had to have brain surgery, they realized how lucky she was and knew they had to give back. They started a small walk to raise awareness and money for brain cancer research. A few years later, the Grombala sisters, Colleen and Emily, joined forces after Emily was diagnosed with an Ependymoma tumor at age 8. Almost 8 years later Emily with her strong faith and courage is doing incredible! Today the walk hosts over 350 people and together these six girls have raised over $100,000!
Money raised and donated goes towards The Brain Tumor Fund which is now partnered with Carolina Neurosurgery & Spine Education and Research Foundation. This is a non-profit organization that works to provide support to important science and clinical research. 100% of the Funds activities are dependent on the generosity of contributors like you. Money is earmarked and goes directly towards research. The Foundation is headed by Dr. Anthony Asher,a Michigan Native. For information go to www.cnsafoundation.org.
