86,402 Seconds In Las Vegas

Incredible update about Billy...
April 21, 2016
What secrets do the Las Vegas storm drains keep? What discoveries wait in the dark? What’s beneath the neon?
Armed with a flashlight, tape recorder and expandable baton for protection, I sought to answer these questions in the summer of 2004. I found ironic debris, stunning artwork and, most shockingly of all, hundreds of people living in the dark, dank catacombs.
Through my community project Shine a Light, and the dedicated work of charities including HELP of Southern Nevada, we’ve been able to house, feed and counsel many of the tunnel residents. But more work needs to be done.
Please donate to this fundraiser and put a smile on the face of someone who’s had a much worse day than you – like Alex, Boston, or Billy, an unemployed war veteran whose front door is a manhole cover. Whether providing socks and underwear, or creating avenues to jobs and housing, your donation will directly help them tomorrow.
Here’s how you can help:
We need to raise $10,000 in the next 24 hours to help my homeless friends get back on their feet.
Once we hit our goal, we’ll go to work to distribute supplies and resources right away. We’ll film everything so you can see the immediate result.

Fundraise for this Campaign
Homeless often wear the same outfit everyday. Let’s give t-shirts, sweatshirts, jackets, pants, socks, and underwear.
Sturdy pairs of shoes are one of the most common requests.
Local bus passes ($2 per ride) and bikes will provide mobility and opportunity.
Mattress pads, blankets, cots, crates, locks, batteries, and supplies help make everyday life a little more comfortable.
Toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, soap, hairbrush, deodorant, nail clippers, razors, shaving cream, towels, and toilet paper.
We’ll help provide support for people trying find a job. They need licenses, ID cards, and internet access for job applications and registrations.
Funds for doctors appointments, dental exams, and emergency health care needs.
Homeless often go days without anything to eat. An emergency supply of food will make sure no one in the tunnels will starve.
$500Job Interview Prep
A clean shave, haircut, and shower to clean up for job interviews.
A $5 recharge of phone minutes allows someone to apply for jobs, make appointments, and talk to family members.
Additional DonationsFund ongoing support
All donations beyond the $10,000 goal with go to continuing to support the homeless community living in the tunnels with food, clothing, medical and social support. Thank you so much.
