BENEFITING: HELPLINE OF DELAWARE & MORROW COUNTIES INC
My father, Randy Madden, was quite a character, but most of all, he was an awesome father. For several years, he drove a racecar, and his number was 88. I loved cheering for him, and I even got to ride on the hood of his car when I was 10.
On November 19, 2002, I lost this amazing person to suicide. My mother, sister, and I were devastated. Each year November has been a difficult month for our family as we reflect on all that we lost.
I decided this year would be different. I love to run, and I run every day. I want to dedicate my passion for running to his memory. Starting November 1, I'm going to run 88 miles by November 19. I plan to keep going after the 19th to see how many miles I can log during the month of November.
I plan to raise money to support HelpLine of Delaware and Morrow Counties. If you could donate even a nickle for each mile I run in November, I'd be so grateful. You can also pledge to run along with me in his honor, by going 88 miles for 88. If you can't run 88 miles, just committing to walking (one of his favorite activities) each day during November would be great, too.
You can also support our cause by offering a flat rate donation in my dad's memory. All of the money will go to HelpLine, providing emotional support for families affected by suicide.
While suicide isn't always preventable, services like those at HelpLine help loved ones who are left confused, scared, and lost.
Please help me reach my goal of $1,000 dollars for HelpLine in November!
