Hasht-e Subh or "8am" is a daily newspaper based in Kabul, Afghanistan. Dubbed by many Afghans as "the country's only secular newspaper," the paper keeps an honest eye on the war torn nation and its government.
8am struggles to survive, facing rising publishing costs and external opposition. Earlier this year, the paper was threatened with closure by a nationwide council.
