9/11 Memorial Eagle Scout project
Organized by: Jan Guskind
My Eagle Scout Service Project is to honor those who lost their lives by the attacks on September, 11th 2001. I will accomplish this by erecting a memorial in their honor as well as a paver pathway for visitors to gain closer access. This memorial and pathway will be in front of the Clark Volunteer Firehouse located at 250 Broadway Avenue Clark N.J. 07066 and will incorporate a piece of steel from the World Trade Center that they received. This location is fitting as many of the firemen from the Clark Volunteer Fire Department assisted in the search and recovery efforts. The location is also very close to the James Nelson Memorial Park which is dedicated to our own Clark resident whose life was lost in the immediate rescue efforts made that day so people could conveniently visit both locations. The pathway leading to the Memorial will enable people to also visit the Firefighters Memorials of the Clark Volunteer Fire Department that are also located along what will be the pathway leading to the 9-11-2001 Memorial.
