BENEFITING: SHEPHERDS WAY ANIMAL RESCUE
We need a fence to save a small herd of wild horses. There are hundreds of wild horses in Okanogan County in Washington State, up near the Canadian border. The County wants them gone so the ranchers will stop complaining about the horses eating cattle pasture or messing up their horse lines. People are trapping them for sale at auction and eventually Canadian slaughter houses, shooting them for being horses or running herds over cliffs and then bragging about it. We have a small herd of 9 (plus 3 foals) that we have been taking care of since last fall. This small herd was rustled up once and we got them back. We now have a round pen and we want to get the stallion and the stud colts gelded then find good homes for any we can. We already have potential homes for the foals next spring. But to make all this happen we need to get them fenced inside the perimeter of our two pieces of property (each horse needs 7 acres of this type of pasture) so no one can harm them.
