Each month it costs approximately $150 to feed a horse. Just feed it, not counting vet bills, farrier costs, worming and other miscellaneous costs. In the winter that estimate is higher due to hay costs and having to feed more hay to keep the horses warm. If 1/3rd of those horses are over the age of 20, that increases that estimate again, by close to double with their special needs.
This fundraiser is for winter hay for our horses. With over 50 in our care going into the coldest season that means we are spending a minimum of $7500 per month to feed them.
In the winter, extra hay helps keep our horses warm and prevents weight loss. We go through 25 square bales & 15 rounds a WEEK. That means over $5000 a month in hay costs. We can surely use your support. If each of you gave just $10 we could raise $4000, $5000, $10000 easily and quickly. So please give to our Hay-Raiser and help us keep our horses warm, healthy and happy this winter.
