In the fall of 1986, I went to an open house for the Boston Crusaders as a teenager and a fledgling drummer. Little did I know then that during my first few months I would meet my future wife and a group of people who would become life-long friends. Over the ensuing years we formed a bond that would lead us to down a path to where we would later ban together and form a critical leadership group that helped the corps not only survive, but thrive into the 2000s and beyond.
The values of hard work, determination, and commitment to excellence we learned during our marching years have stayed with us and have helped us be successful in life. Today, the next generation of Boston Crusaders are learning and absorbing the same set of values. This is why I feel so strongly about the impact the Boston Crusaders have on the lives of young people.
Although fielding a world class touring drum corps is quite expensive, I believe the costs of sustaining programs like this are well worth the investment. The corps operates many vehicles that travel thousands of miles throughout the summer. The organization attempts to keep the cost of membership as reasonable as possible, and that's why fundraisers like these are so important.
Please give as you are able and know that your funds are helping to build the leaders of tomorrow.
Thanks in advance for any assistance you are able to provide.
