There's No Place Like Home
2014 marks the exciting launch of BCCT's Performing Arts Education Program STAGES, with Educational Director Heather Campagno. BCCT STAGES will help children and teens explore the art of acting, musical theatre, vocal performance, and other performing arts through guided techniques and creative thinking. Classes and workshops will be designed to develop confidence and performance abilities.
When Heather Campagno was just 11, she started doing yearly summer plays in her basement with the kids her mother Loretta babysat and neighborhood friends. Popularity quickly grew and BCCT was officially created by the Campagnos in 1992. Through the years, this mother-daughter team has taken BCCT to new heights, with over 100 child actors and 150 volunteers and professional musicians, set and costume designers, and sound and light technicians participating each year.
BCCT is in the process of purchasing property to build a dream home for STAGES. One of the first of its kind in Ocean County, plans are in the works for a beautiful studio where the children of our community can be given the opportunity to develop socailization, self-esteem, performance skills and a love for the performing arts.
Regardless of how much BCCT has grown, it still feels like the family group that started in the Campagnos' basement 30 years ago. Some of our alumni have found their life's passion of performing through BCCT and many have gone on to pursue college and professional careers based on the education and training that they have received at BCCT. Help BCCT build a place where the aspirations of young performers can be nurtured and children are at home to let their creativity shine!
