I am running the Boston Marathon for Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program, a world-class organization with an unwaivering mission: to provide and assure access to the highest quality health care for all homeless men, women and children in the greater Boston area.
We believe our work truly is medicine that matters.
The patients we care for face many daunting problems: their dailly struggle for survival often means that minor illnesses and injuries can escalate into major ilnesses and health care emergencies. At BHCHP, we are experienced with our patients' medical complexity, aware of potential behavioral health issues, and respectful of their struggles.
By delivering helalth care at over 80 locations--including within the walls of Boston's family and emergency shelters, under bridges, along back alleys and on two hospital campuses--BHCHP is able to care for more than 12,000 homeless patients each year.
