Got my bib! #30016
April 15, 2017
On Monday, April 17, I'm running the Boston Marathon. Most people I've told have seemed a little too surprised.
But after 30 years of watching the race from Cleveland Circle, I decided it was time to buy some new sneakers.
Fortunately, I've found my way onto an incredible team, running for the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) and for cancer research.
There's almost no one who doesn't have a direct family experience with cancer. My brother Will was treated at BIDMC. But the kind of care that he and patients from around the world receive at BIDMC depends on research funding.
Unfortunately, that funding is more at risk than ever, especially under the Trump administration, so this is one way for me to do my part for science.
As most of you know, I've spent a lot of time asking for help with other people's races. This is just the first time there's an actual road race.
I really appreciate it!
