As a girl growing up in Athens, I grew up around journalism and stories. I loved writing, and my father was a journalist, so I grew up on the romance of the profession.
Today, Greece is going through a time of steep challenges, and as the people of Greece come together to seek solutions to these challenges, it’s essential that women’s voices be part of the conversation. That’s the belief behind a new initiative from Chime For Change and The Thomson Foundation. Together, they have created an opportunity for young Greek women journalists whose voices desperately need to be heard. Twelve participants will be invited to participate in the five-day workshop. With $26,900, Chime and The Thomson Foundation can jump-start the careers of these young women, not only at the workshop but through mentoring and publishing opportunities afterward, including on The Huffington Post, and help them tell their stories and the stories of their communities, friends and families.
Please CHIME for these young Greek women journalists by making a donation.
