EVENT: Boston Marathon 2014
EVENT DATE: Apr 21, 2014
Dear Friends and Family,
It is hard to believe that Ron has been gone 10 years. All of our lives are full speed ahead on a path that at times we stumble down and other times walk steadily across and in my case run! No matter what we do, time doesn’t stop as our children grow into young adults taking with them the values that we impart and making their own path, we have enriched our lives with new endeavors and surrounded ourselves with friends old and new. We have friends and family who have encountered struggles and through the years lost those near and dear to us and yet we continue to embrace life, celebrating the special moments, the small achievements and each and every day. Through it all Ron is with us every step of the way, unchanged and forever etched into our hearts.
Now I am about to embark on my 7th Marathon, training with my dear friends and running partners Kelly and Terri. For five years I ran for Dana Farber but last year decided to run for The Children’s Room, the place that helped my oldest Arielle and the place that I am honored to be on the board of – it is a special place that provides support and hope for children, teens and their families who have lost a parent or a sibling.
We didn’t finish last year, stopped in our tracks at mile 25 after the senseless bombings. We were the lucky ones and for that I am so very grateful. So this year I run for the children, teens and families who walk through the doors of The Children’s Room, for my marathon teammates who carry their loved ones in their hearts as they train, in memory of my friends Kristin and Peter and my father. I run for all of you who have supported me over the years – my incredible friends who have entered my life at different stages, my cherished family and I run for Arielle, Andy, Sydney and Teddy – you are my gifts and as always Ron is there, the wind at my back, always making me laugh and reminding me that through the challenges, life is to be cherished.
Please consider a small donation to TCR and please forward along names of individuals you would like me to carry marathon day so that they may cross the finish line with me this year!
Love and hugs and Stay Warm today!!
