Thank you for coming to my donation site! I'm running this race in loving memory of my brother, Bruno Richard Giordano ("Rick"). He passed a year ago on Christmas Eve morning after a 12 1/2 year fight against a VERY rare form of cancer called thymic neuroendocrine tumor.
(Pictured to your left is Rick with his wife Ce & two children, Christin & Josh)
He was diagnosed at just about my age & was given 1-3 years. My sister-in-law shared with me that she was told that it will be closer to 1 year realistically. My brother's fierce will to live, steadfast faith & steel determination to fight this thing (as well as the INCREDIBLE support from his wife Ce, a registered nurse), he was able to "shock & awe" all of his medical doctors.
My brother Rick has taught me many things over his lifetime but his shear determination to continue on when all the odds were against him is my driving force in completing this relatively small task of running 13.1 miles. I've never run this distance before & I'm looking forward to the challenge. Thank you again for your support!
God Bless you Rick!! I love you!!!
