Join us to Walk with the Warriors in Chicago on 9/11 as we show our wounded veterans they are not walking their journey to recovery alone. This in-person Community Walk has a suggested donation of $25.

The Story

EVENT DATE: Sep 11, 2015

LOCATION: Cricket Hill at Montrose Beach

 

TIME: Registration opens at 1:00; Walk kicks off at 2 PM

 

TRANSPORTATION: We encourage all to take public transportation however there is a parking lot just north of Wilson convenient to the starting/ending point. 

 

ROUTE: A 3-mile walk along the Lakeshore Trail will be led by veterans from the No Barriers Warriors programs who will share their journey along the way. 

 

PRICE: Registration for the Chicago Community Walk with the Warriors Event is FREE. Just hit register and you're all set to join us! We do have a suggested donation of $25 - you can opt to set up a fundraising page here and submit a donation now or you can bring this to the walk. 

If you decied to set up a fundraising page, we challenge you to continue to fundraise to support No Barriers Warriors programs - AND be eligible for fun prizes like a FREE Fitbit when you reach the $100 fundraising milestone. Then, use your Fitbit to sync to our campaign where we are tracking the total number of miles America has walked in honor of our veterans. See the current number here.

 

DETAILS: This event is an in-person walk to expand our national Walk with the Warriors campaign and reach our supporters' communities; Learn about our programing and how you can participate in our expanding community events while walking alongside No Barriers Warriors' veterans on this meaningful day.

 

Our capstone expedition, Warriors to Summits, embarks on a life-transformative journey to Gannett Peak on September 4th and will summit the peak on September 11; join us and walk in their honor this same day as we support these wounded veterans by showing them they are not alone in their journey to recovery.

 

No Barriers Warriors, a program of the non-profit No Barriers USA, empowers disabled veterans and transitioning service members to overcome barriers and unleash their potential. Our journey based expeditions range from 1-day to 3-weeks.
