Dear Friends and Family,
For the last 2 years Julie has been working for the Carr Educational Foundation raising money to fund the Daraja Academy of Kenya. Daraja is a very unique school where exceptional Kenyan girls who have no other way to access secondary education are provided a four year scholarship that will, literally, change their lives.
Julie, Lisa, Malcolm and Maddie are working together to try and provide 4 special girls with a full year of school -- $10,000 for academics, uniforms, food, shelter and so much more.
We are joining a team of 77 strong on May15th for the 100th Annual Bay to Breakers and partnering with the 77 Girls of Daraja in Kenya to raise money to support the new class of 2011 -- Your gift will provide access to education for an exceptional and promising young Kenyan girl who has no other way to get it...join us and make a difference to someone special! PLEASE Check out our video and see what makes Daraja so special!
As a family, Malcolm, Lisa, Maddie and I are partnering with 4 special girls -- Emily, Mercy, Jemimah and Joyce. Here is a link to each of their stories: http://www.mediafire.com/?5blv5d6xzq6p2 -- take a minute to get to know them. Each one of them is bright and resilient having overcome incredible odds presented by poverty. YOU can ensure that they get the advantage of an excellent education -- something we all in the US take for granted.
