BENEFITING: FREEDOM OF CONSCIENCE DEFENSE FUND
Freedom of Conscience Defense Fund (FCDF) defends organizations and individuals whose religious liberty rights are violated. Attorney Charles LiMandri, founder and Chief Counsel, began this work almost a decade ago providing pro-bono services funded by his private practice. With the recent increase of religious liberty attacks and at the insistence of many friends, Mr. LiMandri founded FCDF as a non profit to help fund the variety of religious liberty cases accepted by the firm fought at the trial level.
The most critical religious liberty case at this time involves Jews Offering New Alternatives for Healing (JONAH). JONAH offers counseling services for those who struggle with unwanted same-sex attractions. The men and women who go through this program willingly are looking for answers and help with these feelings. Some choose to leave the gay lifestyle and some stay.
Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) is suing JONAH for consumer fraud as it states that this type of therapy is a fraud. The fact is, this therapy has helped hundreds of men leave the gay lifestyle and SPLC doesn't like it. The SPLC lists several good groups as "hate groups", including the Catholic Church, LDS Church, and evangelicals, because they do not agree with the gay agenda.
We need your help in putting a stop to SPLC's bullying tactics. They did not count on Charles LiMandri and FCDF putting up a great defense for JONAH. FCDF has currently expended nearly $3 million, over 7000 attorney hours, and over $300,000 in hard costs for the JONAH case.
SPLC has a deep treasure chest of $340 million; FCDF does not. To get through this trial (and the anticipated appeal process) we desperately need to raise the additional funds to protect JONAH and religious freedom. Will you stand with us in prayer and financially assist FCDF in their efforts to eliminate future religious liberty assaults? www.ConscienceDefense.org
