My brother, Will, and I have had a standing bet since 2008: Once I was done running professionally, we would race a marathon. I hung up my track spikes in July, so it's time for 26.2 miles.
We're heading back to Michigan to run the Detroit Marathon on October 16, and we're asking for your help to raise money for Detroit PAL's Kids at the Corner campaign--where they're building a new Tiger Stadium. We grew up walking the five blocks from my Aunt Sue's house in Corktown to games at the corner of Michigan and Trumbull, and can't wait to see the new home Detroit PAL is creating.
We'd love it if you could throw a few bucks towards the charity. (My Uncle Gerry will be matching the donations we put together, so let’s make it a big one.) And for fun, please make a choice: Are you #TeamWill or #TeamLiam?
Leave your pick in the comment section of your donation (please, please, PLEASE make a choice).
Here's the stats to help your decision making:

Mile - 3:57
5K - 14:54

*Will claims that shoes were a lot heavier and rabbits were only something you saw you in the woods back in his day.
Will 831 - Liam 3
(Liam won a 5K in 2009, 16:09 to 16:12, a 100-meter dash in 2006, and one time he knocked Will out cold in a bedroom boxing match. Will is undefeated in basketball.)
